Donations Ambassador Assistant
Job Title: Donations Ambassador Assistant (Truck Driver) Department: ReStore Reports to: ReStore Manager or Assistant ReStore Manager FSLA Status: Part Time/Exempt
Summary: The Donations Ambassador Assistant will work as part of a team that maintain and drive vehicles within the ReStore fleet. This role’s primary responsibilities include but not limited to: assisting Donations Ambassador with driving a truck to scheduled pickup locations, meeting donors, issuing donation receipts, and loading/unloading donations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform all duties with a positive attitude.
Operate donation trucks in a safe and lawful manner.
Maintain cleanliness of trucks interior and exterior.
Perform weekly truck inspections to ensure readiness of truck; reporting any maintenance concerns.
Able to communicate with Procurement Director and Donations Bay Coordinator.
Load and unload donations in a safe and efficient manner.
Assist with donation processing, recycling, and store projects as needed.
Able to train for and pass forklift driver certification.
Attend and participate in store meetings and training sessions as required by ReStore Management.
Support ReStore team efforts to drive staff development, donations, sales, and profits to further Habitat’s mission. Be an ambassador of the Habitat Program.
Articulate the values and goals of Lafayette Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
Demonstrates problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Ability to work well and communicate effectively with other individuals.
Establish and maintain working relationships with staff, volunteers, and the public.
Good organization skills.
Be a team player and able to help where needed.
Drivers must be eligible to be added to Habitat vehicle insurance.
Ability to do heavy lifting up to 75 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Will also experience frequent bending, squatting, lifting and repetitive motion.
Ability to work the computer for short periods of time
