Food Donors
Every year, Lafayette Habitat is fortunate to host many out-of-state college volunteers who choose to give up their winter, spring or summer breaks to come to Lafayette and help us build. These “Collegiate Challenge” volunteers travel at their own expense, and many of them raise funds for months beforehand in order to cover the costs of their trip as well as to make a donation to support Habitat’s local work.
In return for their generosity, we want our Collegiate Challenge teams to have a true taste of southern cuisine! While words like “gumbo” and “jambalaya” may be unfamiliar when they arrive, we know these will be the dishes they remember most after they return home. So we ask local restaurants, businesses, or individuals to consider donating meals for our student volunteers to show appreciation for the hard work they give to our community. We are always in need of more food donors as the number of college groups we host increases every year. If you’re interested, call the Habitat office (337.261.5041) or e-mail [email protected].
Below is a list of local restaurants and businesses who have donated food for our college groups in the past. Be sure to patronize these wonderful donors and thank them for supporting Lafayette Habitat!
