Volunteer shifts are open at the construction site and both ReStores! Schedule below.
Volunteers are the heart of Lafayette Habitat for Humanity. Whether you’re swinging a hammer for the first time as you help build a house, or helping sort through donations at the ReStore, your efforts make the dream of homeownership possible.
Construction Volunteers:
Individual volunteer opportunities are 9:00am-4:00pm Tuesday-Saturday. No construction experience is necessary and we provide all tools and training necessary. Volunteers must be 16 years old (16 and 17 year-olds must have a signed minor waiver). For group volunteer opportunities please email [email protected] or call 337-806-9929.
ReStore Volunteers:
Every day our ReStores receive donations and prepare them for sale to the general public. If you love the retail environment, and enjoy a DIY project from time to time, come hang out with us at the ReStore. We now have two locations in Lafayette: 3123 1/2 Johnston St. (Midtown) and 3124 NW Evangeline Thruway (North). Volunteers must be 16 years old (16 and 17 year-olds must have a signed minor waiver). For group volunteer opportunities, please contact the store directly at 337-371-6030 (Midtown) or 337-345-1439 (North).
Volunteers at all locations will be reminded to:
- Cancel your shift and stay home if you are not feeling well or if you have a fever
- Practice social distancing from customers, staff and other volunteers
- Please wear a mask
