Most future home owners have excitement about buying a new home, but Natasha Cormier has another reason to celebrate: the ability to breathe easier. Since moving into her current residence, Natasha and her daughters have struggled with sinuses and allergies. “It is an older house,” said Natasha, “with terrible air quality.” Natasha and her daughters can now look forward to an energy-efficient new Habitat home free of mold and allergens. As health worries become a thing of the past, Natasha will have more time to focus on what matters.
“When I had my first daughter, I learned that my main responsibility is always making sure she is taken care of, no matter what.” Not only will this home provide a healthier environment, but it will also afford Natasha’s daughters a safe place to grow and thrive. Although it seemed daunting at first to be in charge of maintenance on her future home, Natasha now feels prepared for the challenge after completing the majority of her sweat equity hours. “You literally learn everything you need to know through the program. I feel prepared to fix any home owner challenges that may come.”
Natasha celebrated her home dedication on June 29, 2015.
