The ReStore is auctioning off a fully restored, 1950's white Chambers stove. The silent auction will begin on Wednesday, August 25 and end on Saturday, September 25. The stove features a Durachrome top surface, three top burners, thermowell, in-a-top griddle/broiler, oven, and storage. The handles are press and turn type. Its dimensions are 39” wide by 29.5” deep by 42.5” inches high. The stove is being auctioned with a 1950 cookbook, “Idle Hour Cook Book with the Gas Turned Off,” which contains recipes and directions for cooking on the stove.

Entering its 6th year, Home for the Holidays is organized by the Acadian Home Builders Association and KATC TV-3. Lafayette Habitat for Humanity receives a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales.

State Farm Insurance Companies representatives David Robinson and Annette Hayes present a $15,000 check to Lafayette Habitat for Humanity. State Farm contributed a total of $30,000 towards sponsorship of Marwayne Zeno’s home at 114 E. Gilman Road in Lafayette. In addition to helping fund the home, State Farm employees participated in a wall-raising workday and arranged for in-kind donations including impact-resistant shingles, a “Water Cop” whole-house leak detection system, and a sprinkler system.
