In Lafayette Parish, a person who makes $7.25 per hour would need to work 93 hours per week to afford the
$877 per month Fair Market Rent for a two-bedroom apartment.
Women Build and Lafayette Habitat for Humanity accept the challenge of building a community where everyone has a decent place to live. We are encouraging women (and not excluding men) to accept the challenge of housing by participating in our 2017 Women Build initiative, a program in which volunteers, sponsors, and individual donors join forces with families in Lafayette’s urban core to build homes and futures.
Scheduled for November 7th-18th, Women Build 2017 empowers women to work hands-on at the Habitat construction site, enabling them to directly impact the lives of local families by making homeownership a present reality.
The power of a group of women is unstoppable and with this force for good, our goal is to fund and build an additional home in 2017. Join us today in putting God’s love into action, bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
